How To Guide: Eco-Friendly Scrub Powder

Perhaps you’ve spotted our locally made scrub powder in the shop, or perhaps you didn’t even know we stock it! This wonder product is made in Northamptonshire and supplied to us in returnable tubs like many of our other zero waste cleaning products and foods.

What is our Eco-Friendly Scrub Remover?

The main ingredient is marble dust, a by-product from the marble cutting industry. This acts as a very gentle abrasive which will remove stubborn marks and stains. This powder has a refreshing natural scent of clary sage. This product works great on sinks, baths, tiles, pots, pans, walls and more. If unsure test an inconspicuous area first.

Step 1:

Wash with Fill Co Wash Up or wipe down with All Purpose or Everything Clean.

I’ve written this guide using my ol’ faithful cast iron casserole dish. I’ll often find it ends up with burned on stains from cooking or baking (I use it for both). This is after a wash with Fill Co wash up- mostly clean but some stubborn grime.

Step 2:

Trickle in some warm water (just a splash will do) or wet your washing up brush, cleaning pad or natural sponge. As you can see the pot brush is my favourite for jobs like this. Add a half teaspoon of the scrub powder to whatever you are cleaning, and a blob of washing up liquid. The water, powder, and wash up will combine to create an eco-friendly cream cleaner.

Step 3:

Applying pressure gently to begin with, and harder as needed, give the whole thing a scrub. Stains will lift away.

Step 4:

A quick rinse is all you need and everything is sparkling clean. This method works well on hobs, tiles and most hard surfaces. You can always mix the eco-friendly cream cleaner formula up in a bowl (with the 3 aforementioned ingredients), but I find this method easier and less wasteful. Enjoy!
